
Traffic Alert: Five-vehicle collision on I-77 North
A serious accident involving several vehicles has shut down all northbound lanes of I-77 near Akron. The Ohio Department of Transportation announced the crash around 7 a.m. on Tuesday near Ghent Road, close to a construction zone. According to officials interviewed by FOX 8's Patty Harken, approximately five cars were part of the collision, resulting in at least one person being taken away in an ambulance. By 7:30 a.m., significant traffic delays were reported in the vicinity, with approximately 40-minute delays between mile markers 135 and 138. As of 8:30 a.m., the interstate remained closed, with traffic being diverted off the highway at SR 18. The cause of the accident is still unknown at this time.
