Three teenagers critically injured in Maui car accident
In Kaanapali, three individuals are in the hospital after a serious accident on Honoapiilani Highway in Maui. The incident took place in the early hours of Sunday, August 24th, when a gold 2002 Toyota 4Runner veered off the road and collided with traffic markers, causing the vehicle to overturn. The 18-year-old driver was ejected from the car and sustained life-threatening injuries, while two passengers, also 18 years old, suffered minor injuries. None of the occupants were wearing seatbelts, and airbags did not deploy. Authorities suspect alcohol may have been a factor in the crash and are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the near-fatal collision.
