
Three still in hospital after fatal North Bergen, NJ crash
Officials in North Bergen, New Jersey, have named the two drivers who tragically lost their lives in a car collision last Sunday. The crash took place on Tonnelle Avenue between 50th and 51st streets late at night. According to the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General, the incident unfolded when a police lieutenant began pursuing a Honda Accord driven by 20-year-old Joseph Aziz after he was alleged to have committed a traffic violation. Tragically, the pursuit ended in a collision with a Toyota Corolla driven by 24-year-old Brian Rivera from North Bergen, resulting in serious injuries for both drivers, who later succumbed to their injuries. A passenger in the Accord has been discharged from the hospital, but three passengers in the Corolla are still receiving medical care. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and a vigil was held to honor Rivera at the crash site. Rivera, who was on his way home with his brother and friends after a soccer game, had aspirations of advancing in law enforcement. Friends and family remember him fondly, emphasizing his positive demeanor and promising future.
