Three individuals stuck in coal mine disaster in Northern China

According to reports from foreign media, the incident took place on Thursday at approximately 3:30 pm in Zhenping county, Ankang city. A section of an underground tunnel collapsed while eight workers were carrying out repair work. Fortunately, five workers were able to escape unharmed. The mine, which was constructed in 1998, has been undergoing safety improvements since March 2024. Initial evaluations indicate that around 500 cubic meters of debris were involved in the collapse. Rescue operations are currently being conducted; however, authorities mention that the ongoing rainfall is making these efforts more challenging.
