Teenager dies in solo car accident in Clark County
A 17-year-old student, Abigail Campbell, tragically lost her life in a car accident early Wednesday morning in Clark County. Campbell, a senior at Greenon High School who was also enrolled in courses at Clark County CTC, was driving on Fairfield Pike when her car veered off the road and struck a tree near the Hunter Road junction. Despite the swift response of first responders, she was pronounced dead at the scene. The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation. Community members mentioned that speeding, especially in winter, has been a common issue on Fairfield Pike, but nothing as devastating as this incident. At Greenon High School, Campbell was known for her participation in the girls tennis team and dedication to studying health occupations at Clark County CTC. Superintendent Darrin Knapke announced that grief counseling and support services will be available to students in need throughout the week.
