Teenage boy killed in Stoneham after colliding with car on electric dirt bike

A tragic incident in Stoneham resulted in the death of a 13-year-old boy who collided with a car while riding an electric dirt bike. The accident occurred on Oak Street at approximately 4:30 p.m. According to Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan, the boy crashed into a Toyota Corolla driven by a 73-year-old man as the man was turning left from Oak Street to Royal Street. The teenager was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital where he passed away. The victim’s identity has not been disclosed, and there is no information regarding the condition of the driver or his identity. The Middlesex District Attorney, Stoneham Police, and Massachusetts State Police are conducting an investigation into the incident. Stoneham Superintendent Dr. Kristen Defrancisco expressed condolences to the community, noting that the victim was not a student at Stoneham Central Middle School. She mentioned that counselors would be available at the school on Monday for any students affected and provided resources for parents on helping their children cope with grief. Stoneham, located about 9 miles north of Boston, has a population of just under 23,000 residents.
