Teen fatally struck by vehicle while riding e-bike in Farmington
A teenage boy lost his life on Friday when he was struck by a car while riding an e-bike in Farmington. The 13-year-old was hit around 4:30 p.m. while cycling in the 600 South 1525 West area, as reported by the police. Upon arrival, officers found bystanders administering CPR to the boy who was then taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where he tragically passed away. The driver of the car, thought to be traveling north on 1525 West at the time of the accident, stayed at the scene to assist with the investigation. Farmington Police Sgt. Adam Hansen emphasized the importance of understanding e-bike laws and safety measures to prevent such incidents in the future. This incident follows the tragic death of a 2-year-old girl who was struck by a truck at a Layton car wash earlier.
