Teen dies, mother hurt in late-night Alton accident
A tragic accident occurred in Alton, Illinois on Friday evening, resulting in the death of a 17-year-old girl named Grace Bustos and injuring her mother. The crash took place near the intersection of Homer Adams Parkway and Seminary Road around 9 p.m. The Alton Police Department reported that the driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash displayed signs of impairment and has been taken into custody. Alton Police Chief Jarrett Ford expressed condolences to the family and friends of the victims, as well as the Alton School District community who knew Grace. Investigations are ongoing with the assistance of the Illinois State Police Traffic Crash Reconstruction Team and the Madison County Coroner's Office. No formal charges have been announced as of Saturday afternoon.
