Teen dies in Pelham, NH crash with utility pole
A tragic incident occurred on Thursday night in Pelham as a teenager lost his life in a car accident involving a collision with a utility pole. Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find the driver trapped and unresponsive in the vehicle, which had suffered significant rollover damage from hitting the pole. Nearly 1,000 residents in the area faced a temporary power outage due to the damaged pole, which was quickly rectified by Liberty Utilities. The 19-year-old driver, a Pelham resident, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities suspect that speed played a role in the crash, though investigations are ongoing. As of Friday morning, the driver had not been publicly identified, and the latest data from the New Hampshire Office of Highway Safety indicated 116 fatal crashes in the state in 2025, with Thursday's incident not yet included in that count.
