Suspected DUI in Fatal Motorcycle Crash in East Las Vegas Valley

A motorcyclist has tragically passed away, and a driver is currently facing charges following a collision on Friday night in the southeast Las Vegas valley. The incident occurred at around 11:30 p.m. on September 5th at the East Tropicana Avenue and McLeod Drive intersection, as reported by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. A 2010 Honda Accord was making a left turn from the westbound lanes of Tropicana onto McLeod when it collided with a 2020 Harley-Davidson motorcycle traveling eastbound in the far right lane of Tropicana. The impact caused the motorcycle rider to be thrown from the bike, resulting in serious injuries. Despite efforts to save him, the rider succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital. The driver of the Honda, Bryan Vargas-Caicedo, displayed signs of impairment and sustained minor injuries. He has been detained at the Clark County Detention Center and faces legal repercussions. This tragic incident marks the 111th traffic-related fatality of the year 2025 in Las Vegas and is currently being investigated by law enforcement authorities.
