Suspect accused in Minneapolis carjacking and fatal crash

A 45-year-old man with a significant criminal record has been charged in connection to a carjacking and chase that tragically resulted in a fatal crash in a busy intersection in north Minneapolis. The victims in the crash were identified as Marisa Ardys Casebolt and Liberty Borb, both 25 years old, with a six-year-old passenger sustaining serious injuries. Troy Mike Payton faces charges, including two counts of fleeing from a law enforcement officer resulting in death. The chaotic incident unfolded when Payton crashed his vehicle into another car and proceeded to point a gun at several drivers, ultimately stealing a car at gunpoint. As the investigation continues, it was reported that Payton fired his gun multiple times during the events. He fled the scene in the stolen car with his dogs before being pursued by law enforcement through the city streets. The pursuit culminated in a fatal crash at Olson Memorial Highway.
