Support for two survivors in fatal Ybor bar crash
A young woman, 24, and her friend remain hospitalized after a driver crashed into a crowd outside a popular bar in Ybor City last weekend. Police indicate that 22-year-old Silas Sampson struck the crowd outside Bradley's on 7th Avenue early Saturday morning. Riley Hancock, 24, was among those injured during the chaotic event. Sampson was seen speeding on I-275 by Florida Highway Patrol troopers before evading them and ultimately crashing into pedestrians in Ybor City. The crash resulted in several injuries and fatalities. Riley's mother, Kimberly Maus, shared the harrowing experience of not knowing her daughter's condition immediately after the incident but expresses gratitude that Riley is alive despite sustaining severe injuries. Riley's recovery will be lengthy, and a fundraiser has been initiated to support her rehabilitation. Additional fundraising efforts have also been launched to aid her friend, Connor, who is still hospitalized. You can access the fundraiser for Riley here and the fundraiser for Connor here.
