Students on board school bus crash near Ravenna.
A Ravenna Public Schools bus carrying students was involved in an accident in Sullivan Township this Monday morning. The incident occurred at around 6:40 a.m. on Sullivan Road close to Heights Ravenna Road. Reports from the Muskegon County Sheriff's Office indicate that the bus, traveling north, veered off the road, causing it to spin and enter a ditch where it hit a pole, resulting in the downing of power lines. Among the occupants were three students with disabilities and the driver. Luckily, all four individuals sustained only minor injuries as they were all wearing seat belts. Ravenna Public Schools issued a statement confirming the involvement of Bus 118 in the crash, assuring that the students were receiving medical attention as a precautionary measure. The district expressed gratitude for the community's understanding and support as student safety is their top priority. Emergency response teams from the Fruitport Fire Department, Muskegon County Sheriff's Office, and Michigan State Police were on-site following the incident. In the aftermath of the crash, Sullivan Road was blocked off between Heights Ravenna and Ellis roads.
