Students injured in school bus accident in Okeechobee County
After a school bus collided with a vehicle in Okeechobee County at the intersection of 128th Ave and Highway 70 West during the morning route, multiple students were taken to the hospital. Fortunately, there were no life-threatening injuries to report, and some students were taken to Raulerson Hospital as a precaution. The school district expresses gratitude that no students or the bus driver suffered serious injuries. Okeechobee County Schools commends the prompt and professional response of the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office, Okeechobee County Fire Rescue, and the dedicated staff at the Okeechobee County Transportation Department and Okeechobee High School for their support in handling the situation. The closed roadway has been reopened.
