A crash involving a church school bus from Olivet Baptist Church in Westwood, Kansas, occurred last Friday afternoon on Interstate 29, halting traffic between Kansas City and St. Joseph. The incident resulted in multiple injuries, with nine people reported as injured, including eight teenagers and a 44-year-old woman. Two teens, a 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl, sustained serious injuries. The 61-year-old bus driver was unharmed, and six others suffered minor injuries. Five individuals were taken to North Kansas City Hospital, while three were transported to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph. The mishap occurred around 3:35 p.m. when a front passenger wheel of the bus blew out, leading to its loss of control and subsequent rollover. The interstate was reopened by 6:30 p.m. the same day.
