Street race in South Gate leads to multiple-car collision
Officials in South Gate are looking into a serious car accident involving six vehicles that occurred along Tweedy Boulevard. Authorities suspect that the crash, which took place late Wednesday night, may have been connected to illegal street racing. The initial findings of the investigation suggest that two cars were potentially racing when they collided and subsequently hit parked cars. While no witnesses have confirmed the street racing, one of the parked cars caught fire, and a business sustained damage from the crash. A driver was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence, although no other arrests have been made. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries despite the significant damage. The cause of the accident is currently being investigated, and the identity of the driver arrested for DUI has not been disclosed.
