Sheriff says wrong-way driver was at bar before deadly crash
An investigation is ongoing into a tragic wrong-way crash on Interstate 70 in Huber Heights, Ohio, early Sunday morning that resulted in the deaths of three individuals and one person hospitalized. The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office suspects alcohol may have been a factor in the devastating accident. Chief Jeremy Roy emphasized the importance of determining the events leading up to the crash, indicating that the at-fault driver had been traced to a local bar prior to the incident. Authorities are urging anyone with information, especially those who witnessed the crash, to contact investigators. While the victims have not been identified yet, it was revealed that an employee of a bar in Enon and his girlfriend were among those who lost their lives. Roy highlighted the severe impact of vehicles traveling in opposite directions at high speeds, stating that collisions like these often result in fatalities. The accident occurred when a 55-year-old man driving a Chevy Tahoe entered the westbound lanes of I-70 at the wrong ramp, causing a chain of collisions that led to the fatal outcome.
