Several individuals hurt in two separate car accidents in Northwest Iowa
Multiple individuals were hospitalized on Wednesday after two separate crashes occurred near Spirit Lake, Iowa. The first incident, involving a four-vehicle collision, occurred around 4:49 p.m. at the junction of Highways 9 and 71. A woman driving a 2006 Chevy Equinox caused a chain reaction by striking a stationary vehicle, resulting in significant damage. The woman sustained serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital before being airlifted to Sioux Falls. Less than an hour later, a second crash was reported at the intersection of 140th Street and 290th Avenue, involving a woman in a 2013 Dodge Charger and a man in a 2019 GMC Acadia. Both drivers and a child were transported to a nearby medical facility with minor injuries for treatment.
