Serious offenses: Troubled trucking company linked to fatal Turnpike accident

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has announced plans to investigate the trucking company that employed the driver involved in a fatal crash on the Florida Turnpike in Fort Pierce. The driver, Harjinder Singh, is facing three counts of vehicular homicide in connection with the incident. DeSantis expressed concern regarding the company's hiring practices, questioning why Singh was allowed to drive for them despite alleged failures in English and road sign exams. An expert highlighted multiple safety violations by the company, White Hawk Carriers Inc., including issues with driver inspections and violations related to unsafe driving and hours-of-service. The company's operations were recently restricted to California by the U.S. Department of Transportation due to safety concerns. Despite attempts to reach out, the company appears to be permanently closed.
