
Second crash closes I-68 within hours
A video has been released showing coverage of a second accident that occurred, leading to the closure of all lanes on Interstate 68 in Preston County. As of October 6, 2025, at 10:23 a.m., the Preston County 911/Office of Emergency Management has confirmed that all lanes are now open and the accident site has been cleared. Earlier, at 9:15 a.m., it was reported that the westbound lanes had reopened, while the eastbound lanes remained closed. The accident took place at mile marker 20, between Coopers Rock and Bruceton Mills. Emergency officials and HealthNet were present at the scene, responding to the incident. This incident is distinct from a previous tractor-trailer accident that occurred earlier that morning, resulting in the closure of I-68.
