Search warrant uncovers suspected drunk driving in collision that resulted in deaths of two Marquette University student athletes
Fresh information has come to light regarding the tragic incident on Friday that resulted in the deaths of two Marquette University student athletes. TMJ4 has obtained a search warrant indicating that a 41-year-old woman was taken into custody for suspected driving under the influence, leading to the fatal outcome. According to the warrant, the woman was behind the wheel of a Ford Ranger that collided with an SUV transporting several Marquette students, causing the fatal accident. When officers reached the scene, they immediately suspected impairment due to various observations such as slurred speech and the presence of alcohol on the suspect's breath. The warrant also discloses that the woman confessed to consuming two Steel Reserve beers before the crash. Field sobriety tests administered later revealed multiple signs of impairment, like balance issues and bloodshot eyes. The aim of the search warrant is to analyze the suspect's blood to determine the precise blood alcohol content at the time of the collision. Additionally, the document highlights that the suspect had a previous OWI conviction from over two decades ago. Currently, the suspect is in custody at the Milwaukee County Jail, but her name is not being released by TMJ4 as charges have not yet been formally filed.
