Search for driver of stolen vehicle that crashed into Pierce Township woods
Three individuals sustained injuries in a collision involving a stolen truck early on a Thursday morning in Clermont County. The incident took place on Bradbury Road near Nine Mile Tobasco Road at approximately 2:30 a.m. Authorities mentioned that the truck had been stolen from Hamilton County. When a Pierce Township officer tried to stop the vehicle after spotting it in the area, the driver chose to speed off in a reckless manner. Following department regulations that only permit pursuits involving violent felonies, the officer did not pursue the car. The stolen truck was found shortly after, having crashed into a guardrail on a winding one-lane road, eventually coming to a stop in the woods. A 17-year-old passenger who was trapped inside sustained significant injuries and was airlifted to UC Medical Center. Meanwhile, the driver fled the scene on foot, prompting a search effort by authorities on the ground and in the air. Despite not locating the driver initially, two individuals connected to the crash were later discovered walking in the roadway with injuries and covered in mud. Both were taken to University Hospital for medical care, and thankfully, all three individuals involved have injuries that are not life-threatening. An investigation into the incident will be jointly conducted by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, the Ohio State Highway Patrol, and the Pierce Township Police Department.
