School bus carrying Minco softball team crashes, injuring 7 students and adults
A school bus transporting members of the Minco softball team overturned Monday night in Grady County, resulting in several serious injuries and one person in critical condition. The accident occurred on State Highway 152 when the bus, carrying 18 people, swerved off the road after hitting a deer. No other vehicles were involved in the crash. As of Tuesday morning, there have been no reported fatalities, but both students and a coach are in critical condition. Several individuals, including an adult, sustained severe injuries. Minco Public Schools Superintendent Kevin Sims expressed concern for those involved and announced the closure of the school for the day. Grady County Sheriff Gary Boggess also urged thoughts and prayers for the student-athletes and coaches affected by the incident. Minco Public Schools confirmed the closure for Tuesday following the crash.
