Saline crash victim honored as devoted family man; wife in critical condition

A tragic accident occurred in Saline last Friday night at the intersection of Michigan Avenue and Willow Road, involving four vehicles and resulting in the deaths of two individuals. One of the victims was a 56-year-old man from Brooklyn, Michigan, while the other was identified as 43-year-old Shane Burleson from Osseo, Michigan. Burleson's wife, Chrissy, sustained serious injuries and had to be rescued from the vehicle. The Michigan State Police reported that the driver of a Dodge Ram, traveling on westbound Michigan Avenue, caused the collision when attempting to pass a Volvo semi-truck with a trailer. The Ram struck an oncoming Jeep Cherokee, causing it to lose control and veer off the road. The Ram then collided with a Chevrolet Silverado truck driven by Burleson, resulting in both drivers being fatally injured. The driver of the Jeep Cherokee was critically injured, while her two children, ages 2 and 5, suffered minor injuries. A friend of Burleson shared heartfelt memories about him, highlighting his kind nature and devotion to his children. Chrissy was airlifted to the University of Michigan Hospital for medical treatment. A fundraising campaign has been initiated to support Chrissy with medical expenses and funeral costs. The GoFundMe page describes the devastating accident and the current medical situation. Authorities have stated that alcohol and drugs were not contributing factors to the crash.
