Route 15 closed in Adams County due to deadly accident
This morning, a fatal accident on Route 15 led to its closure as State Police responded to the scene. According to officials in Gettysburg, a Volkswagen Jetta veered off the road and hit a guiderail in Adams County's Tyrone Township around 5:30 a.m. The Jetta then stalled in the road, prompting a pickup truck to rear-end it and slide down an embankment. Subsequently, a tractor-trailer also rear-ended the Jetta, causing it to cross into the southbound lane. Sadly, the Jetta driver was pronounced dead at the site, while the pickup truck driver sustained minor injuries. Route 15 remained shut down for several hours, as reported by 511PA.
