Road shut down near school in Center Point due to deadly accident
A fatal accident led to the closure of a major road in Center Point on Wednesday afternoon. According to the Center Point Fire District, emergency responders were called to a serious crash on Chalkville School Road around 2 p.m. A vehicle was found off the road after apparently crashing through a fence. Chalkville School Road was shut down until nearly 4 p.m. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office reported that the crash happened near Cynthia Drive and resulted in one casualty. The location of the incident is close to Chalkville Elementary School. The fire department advised drivers to find alternative routes and avoid the area.
