Report: Aviation influencer injured in helicopter crash in Huntington Beach
A helicopter crash in Huntington Beach involving a renowned aviation influencer occurred over the weekend, as helicopters were landing for the upcoming Cars and Copters event. The crashed helicopter, associated with the event, remains near the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort and Spa. The owner and pilot of the helicopter, Eric Nixon, sustained injuries including broken ribs and crushed vertebrae, along with four other individuals. Nixon has been known for performing risky maneuvers at high speeds and low altitudes. The investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board is ongoing, despite delays due to the federal shutdown. The Huntington Beach Police Department and Fire Department responded to the crash scene, and five injured individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment. The event, which supports the Huntington Beach Police & Community Foundation, remains under investigation.
