Remembering UK student who died in fishing incident at high school soccer game
During the Henry Clay vs Dunbar match at the Lexington Sporting Club on Thursday night, a special tribute was held for Noah Tinch, a former Henry Clay soccer player and UK student who tragically passed away in a fly fishing accident earlier this summer. At the event, friends and family donned shirts bearing the words "Love - Lead - Live Like Noah" to honor his memory. Tinch's best friend and roommate, Will Shrensker, reflected on Noah's positive impact, stating, "It's a reminder of how we all should live, we all looked up to him." A heartfelt halftime video showcased Tinch's teammates and loved ones, with his mother, Angie Cruse-Tinch, expressing gratitude for the outpouring of support from the community. Cruse-Tinch shared that while the past months have been incredibly challenging, the love and support from Noah's friends have been a source of light during dark times. As the healing process continues, Tinch's parents are working on establishing the "Live Like Noah Project," a nonprofit that will provide soccer and leadership scholarships to honor his legacy. Despite the profound loss, there is a sense of unity and strength in the community as they come together to remember Noah's spirit and impact.
