Portland driver charged with DUI in fatal Milwaukie collision

A man from Portland has been charged with manslaughter, drunk driving, and other offenses following a fatal crash in Milwaukie that resulted in the death of an 82-year-old woman and injuries to several individuals. The incident took place on Aug. 31 at an intersection near Southeast Milport Road and Southeast McLoughlin Boulevard. The suspect, Austin Richard Jones, allegedly ran a red light at 50 miles per hour, crashing his vehicle into another car. The collision led to injuries to multiple individuals, including the 90-year-old driver of the other car, Donald Wesley Brown, and his wife Margaret Crain Brown, who unfortunately passed away at the hospital. Jones is currently in custody at Clackamas County Jail, with bail set at $500,000. Additional charges against him include reckless driving, DUI, and other related offenses. Jones is awaiting trial, and he is also facing charges in a separate case in Multnomah County.
