
Police: Stolen truck causes multiple crashes and home damage in Omaha before hitting midtown residence
According to police, an individual stole a pickup truck and drove it recklessly through Omaha, causing multiple collisions and damaging numerous homes on Thursday. The pickup eventually crashed into a house near 36th and Leavenworth Streets, where the suspect was captured. Paul Fraynd, co-owner of Sun Valley Landscaping, mentioned to KETV that the pickup was taken while the landscaping crew was working near 88th and Dodge Streets. Omaha Police Department officers closed off 36th Street at Leavenworth Street after the crash. The suspect fled the scene briefly on foot but was apprehended later. Three individuals, including the suspect and two others, sustained injuries as a result of the incident. Fortunately, the family inside the home that was hit reported that they are unharmed. Hamza Mberwa, a member of the family, described feeling shocked and scared by the ordeal.
