Police seek car in fatal Carthage hit-and-run
A tragic incident occurred in Carthage Friday morning when a woman lost her life after being hit by a vehicle while crossing Vine Street near West 73rd Street around 6 a.m. The driver involved left the scene, as indicated by the police. Security footage from a nearby business showed the woman, appearing unsteady, trying to cross the road. Despite efforts from witnesses to administer CPR, she did not survive. The police are searching for a dark Ford Explorer with lighter panels that was last seen driving north on Vine Street after the incident. The authorities have not disclosed the victim's identity.
