Police report 9 people hurt in 5-car collision in Wilkinsburg
On Thursday night in Wilkinsburg, a five-vehicle collision resulted in nine individuals getting hurt, as reported by the police. This incident occurred at the intersection of Penn and East Swissvale avenues near the Marathon gas station around 9 p.m. Vehicles were left strewn across the road, including an overturned SUV. The Pittsburgh Bureau of Police mentioned that they had pulled over the SUV's driver in the city for a vehicle violation, but the driver fled. Despite this, law enforcement did not engage in a pursuit, and the SUV later crashed near the gas station. Five of the injured individuals were transported to nearby medical facilities, with all reported to be in stable condition. The Pittsburgh police are conducting the investigation, with the involvement of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives at the scene for undisclosed reasons.
