Police: Officer rescues driver from blazing vehicle post high-speed collision
A man is being charged in connection with a fiery accident in Holbrook, Massachusetts, that led to a courageous rescue on Saturday evening, authorities reported. Holbrook Police and Fire responded to a motor vehicle collision with fire on South Franklin St. Upon arrival, they found three badly damaged vehicles, two of which were empty but a pickup truck was on fire with someone trapped inside. Officer Jonathan O'Brien instructed bystanders to move away for their safety as the fire spread quickly. He then rescued the trapped driver, Douglas Silva Soares, before the truck was fully engulfed in flames. Soares, who was speeding and veered over the yellow line, faces charges for his actions. The crash resulted in significant damage to vehicles and property in the area.
