Police close Route 163 due to deadly solo car accident.
A fatal single-car accident occurred in Millstadt, Illinois on Saturday morning when a driver crashed into a tree. Illinois State Police arrived at the scene along the southbound side of Illinois State Route 163 near Cemetery Road around 4:52 a.m. The driver, the sole occupant of the Toyota vehicle, tragically lost their life due to the crash. The incident caused a closure of all traffic on I-163 from around 5:46 a.m. for investigation purposes, with normal traffic resuming at approximately 9:15 a.m.
