
Plane crash at David Wayne Hooks airport in Northwest Harris County.
Emergency responders were dispatched to a small plane accident at an airport in northwest Harris County. There have been reports of brushfires in the vicinity as well. The incident occurred at David Wayne Hooks Memorial Airport, near the intersection of the Grand Parkway and FM 2920. According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, the crash site is on the southern runway of the airport, where the plane is said to be ablaze. The Klein Fire Department began receiving reports of the crash around 12:15 p.m. involving a Cessna 340 aircraft. The Texas DPS has been notified and will oversee the investigation, with medics and fire crews also on the scene. Additionally, brushfires in the area have prompted responses from fire crews, including at a nearby tree farm. Authorities are advising the public to avoid the area.
