Phoenix crash injures person due to fiery collision between light rail and tractor trailer
A collision between a tractor trailer and a light rail in Phoenix is currently being investigated following a fiery crash on Sunday night. The incident occurred at around 7:15 p.m. near the intersection of 18th and Washington streets. Upon arriving at the scene, officers were assisted by the fire department in extinguishing the flames that engulfed both vehicles. The driver of the tractor trailer was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. According to the Phoenix Fire Department, the crash resulted in significant flames and smoke, causing the power system of the light rail to be disabled. Thankfully, firefighting crews quickly controlled the fire, preventing it from spreading to nearby structures.
