
Pedestrian dead after being struck by vehicle on Savannah Highway near Skylark Drive
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – A pedestrian was struck and killed early Wednesday morning along a West Ashley roadway. The Charleston Police Department said a Toyota sedan was heading north on Savannah Highway when the driver hit a pedestrian who was attempting to cross the road. The driver immediately stopped. Police say the crash happened around 6:15 a.m. near Skylark Drive. The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital, where they died from their injuries. The victim's name has not yet been released. Police ask that any witnesses contact the department's traffic unit by calling 843-965-4084.
