Pedestrian critically injured in Pacific Beach crash

A pedestrian was critically injured in Pacific Beach after being hit by a car while crossing the street away from a designated crosswalk. The accident took place on Wednesday evening on Grand Avenue. The individual, a 39-year-old man, sustained serious injuries including a spinal fracture, brain bleed, dislocated knee, and collapsed lung. He was rushed to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. Authorities state that alcohol was not a factor in the collision, and the driver, a 48-year-old woman in a blue Toyota Prius, remained at the scene.
