Opelousas cyclist dies in tragic crash
An Opelousas resident tragically lost his life after a vehicle collided with his bicycle on U.S.190 near La. 35. The victim, Dallas Pitre, 68, was biking in the westbound lane of U.S. 190 when he was hit by an eastbound vehicle. He passed away at the scene, while the driver of the vehicle was unharmed and cooperated with authorities. The driver was found not to be under the influence of alcohol following a breath test. Louisiana State Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
