
One person dead in two-vehicle crash on I-40, multiple lanes closed overnight: Police
RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A person has died and lanes have reopened after a late night crash on I-40 East, police told CBS 17. According to the Raleigh Police Department, officers responded to the scene of a two-vehicle collision around 10:50 p.m. Wednesday on I-40 East between Rock Quarry Road and Hammond Drive. A spokesperson with the department told CBS 17 that one person died as a result of the crash. Officers said no arrests or citations have been made, but the investigation is still ongoing. According to the North Carolina Department of Transportation, multiple lanes of I-40 East were closed between 10:53 p.m. Wednesday night and 3:05 a.m. Thursday morning.
