One fatality in collision between car and RTD bus on westbound I-70 at Holly St. Monday morning
A fatal collision occurred on westbound Interstate 70 at Holly Street early Monday morning involving a car and an RTD bus, as confirmed by the Denver Police Department. The incident occurred at approximately 6:25 a.m. when the RTD bus, traveling on Route 15L, was rear-ended. Sadly, the driver of the car involved in the crash lost their life. Following the incident, the stretch of westbound I-70 at Holly Street was closed, leading to traffic being diverted onto E. 45th N. Drive and causing congestion at Colorado Boulevard. Morning commuters are advised by authorities to consider using alternate routes such as westbound Interstate 270 or southbound Interstate 25 to avoid delays. The investigation into the collision prompted the closure of westbound I-70 by Quebec Street for some time, with normal traffic resuming by 9:02 a.m.
