Oklahoma softball community pays tribute to 10-year-old victim of accident

The Oklahoma City softball community gathered at their training facility to pay tribute to 10-year-old Kella Cruikshank, who tragically lost her life in a car accident in Grady County. Kella, a cherished member of the Gametime 2K15 Premier softball team, was recognized for her vibrant personality and outstanding skills on the field. Stew Fleischman, one of her coaches, referred to her as the team's driving force, commending her prowess at first and third bases as well as in pitching. Fleischman admired Kella's exceptional abilities and positive demeanor, noting her infectious energy and support for her teammates. The incident took place on State Highway 152 and County Street 2760, not far from a recent bus accident involving the Minco High School softball team. Kella's relatives reminisced about their fond memories together, particularly those spent playing softball. In remembrance of Kella, the team plans to honor her with memorial jerseys, helmet stickers bearing the number "29," and a dugout memento for players to touch as a tribute. They aim to formally retire Kella's number 29 and have initiated a GoFundMe campaign that has amassed over $18,000 in donations.
