
Officer charged in DUI crash; scooter rider loses leg
A police officer in St. Louis is now facing charges following a drunk driving accident that caused severe injuries to a scooter driver. The incident occurred at the intersection of Morganford Road and Carondelet Boulevard in the Boulevard Heights neighborhood. The off-duty officer, identified as Christopher R. Murray, was driving a Ford F-150 when he failed to yield to the scooter, resulting in a collision. The scooter driver, a 49-year-old man, sustained critical injuries including the amputation of his leg below the knee. Murray's blood alcohol level was found to be .096%, and he has been charged with DWI - serious physical injury and second-degree assault. He is being held in custody without bond.
