A tragic car crash claimed the life of an off-duty officer from the Los Angeles Police Department early Saturday morning. The accident occurred at Cinema Drive and Bouquet Canyon Road in Santa Clarita, where the officer's vehicle crashed into a light pole and caught fire, leading to his untimely death. The cause of the crash remains unknown as authorities continue to investigate. While responding to the incident, the Los Angeles County Fire Department did not request an ambulance as the officer was pronounced dead at the scene. Amidst the investigation, a motorist was apprehended for suspected driving under the influence after driving through the crash site. The victim, confirmed by a Fire Department spokesperson to be an off-duty officer, has not been identified as of yet.
