NJ teen girls allegedly stalked and killed by driver
A tragic hit-and-run incident in Cranford, New Jersey has left the community in shock as two teenage girls lost their lives. The girls, identified as Maria and Isabela, both 17-year-old Cranford High School students, were riding an electronic bike on Burnside Avenue when they were struck by a black Jeep SUV. The driver fled the scene but was apprehended by the police after the SUV broke down a short distance away. There are concerns among residents that the girls may have been targeted, with reports suggesting that the suspect had been allegedly harassing one of the victims for months. Union County officials are seeking surveillance footage of a 2021 black Jeep Compass SUV with tinted windows in the vicinity at the time of the crash. The suspect, believed to be 17 years old, is in custody, with authorities urging anyone with information to come forward. The community is coming together for a candlelight vigil in honor of Maria and Isabela tonight at 7 p.m. in Cranford.
