New details from body camera in Water Street crash injuring two women
Recent surveillance footage obtained by TMJ4 reporter Jenna Rae has revealed new details about a crash that occurred in July on Water Street in Milwaukee, causing severe injuries to two women. Chloe Handrich and Samantha Zganjar were struck by a vehicle while crossing the street, which drove through barricades. The driver of the vehicle received traffic citations but was not criminally charged, sparking questions from the victims and their families. The surveillance videos, including footage from city street cameras and dash and body cameras of responding officers, show the moments leading up to and following the collision. Witnesses reported that the driver stopped and checked on the victims before the police arrived. During interactions with officers, the driver mentioned having consumed alcohol earlier in the evening, but she was not subjected to a field sobriety test. Despite the injuries sustained by Handrich and Zganjar, the driver was cited for traffic violations and not arrested. Handrich remains in a wheelchair with serious injuries, while Zganjar underwent surgery for her injuries. The driver has not been publicly named due to the lack of criminal charges filed against her.
