Six farmworkers from Stockton tragically lost their lives in a suspected DUI crash in Napa, with only one survivor besides the driver. Marbin Santiz Ruiz shared details of the incident that occurred on Sept. 7, where the minivan driven by Norberto Celerino, 53, collided with a tree. Santiz Ruiz, who sustained severe injuries and was hospitalized, expressed feelings of loneliness post-accident, noting the lack of support as he navigates recovery without immediate family in the country. The survivor also mentioned his close friendship with one of the victims, Pedro López Gómez. Celerino faces serious charges from the Napa County District Attorney's Office, including six counts of murder and multiple felony charges related to the fatal crash. Authorities confirmed Celerino's prior DUI convictions, with his latest run-in with the law occurring just days before the tragic accident. Notably, Celerino's medical condition has delayed his arraignment, and the circumstances surrounding his role as the driver for the group of farmworkers have not been clarified.
