Multiple streetlights are not working at the location of fatal car accident in Apopka.

A tragic incident occurred in Apopka, where three teenagers lost their lives in a car crash on Sunday, with three more sustaining injuries as their vehicle veered off the road and collided with a tree. Local residents have noted that many streetlights in the area are not functioning properly. Duke Energy acknowledged the issue, attributing it to an ongoing construction project, and assured that efforts are being made to have the streetlights operational again by the end of the week. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the fatal crash involving the teens occurred early in the morning as they were traveling on Welch Road. The driver of the pickup truck, a 17-year-old, and two passengers were taken to hospitals with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Tragically, two other passengers were pronounced dead at the scene, with another passing away at AdventHealth Apopka. The individuals involved were identified as students from Apopka High School and Kelly Park School. The crash site, where tire marks and a damaged tree were visible, has been documented by investigators.
