Multiple car pileup on I-95 kills in multi-vehicle accident - police
A series of crashes occurred on northbound I-95 near mile marker 223, south of State Road 46, over the weekend. The incident resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries. The chain of events began with a collision between two vehicles which set off a chain reaction involving five vehicles and two pedestrians. According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the initial crash involved a 33-year-old man from Port St. Lucie driving a 2019 Chevy Impala in the center lane, who attempted to switch lanes and collided with a 2024 Volkswagen. This collision caused the Volkswagen to veer off the road and the Impala to hit the median. The Impala's driver then exited his vehicle and was subsequently hit by a Hyundai Elantra and an Audi A4 as they tried to maneuver around the disabled Impala. A Good Samaritan came to the victim's aid but was also struck by a Nissan Murano as it tried to avoid the scene.
