Motorcyclist badly hurt in Libertyville collision with SUV: authorities
A serious crash involving an SUV and a motorcycle resulting in major injuries took place on Sunday, as reported by Libertyville police. The incident occurred around 5:44 p.m. in the 1300 block of N. Milwaukee Ave. Preliminary investigations suggest that the motorcycle, heading north on North Milwaukee Avenue in the curbside lane, collided with an SUV exiting a McDonald's restaurant. The motorcyclist sustained severe injuries and was rushed to Advocate Condell Medical Center. Fortunately, the SUV occupants were unharmed. Milwaukee Avenue was closed off for the duration of the investigation. The cause of the accident remains unknown, and the Libertyville Police Department along with the Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team are looking into the matter.
